What is a water purifier and how to install it
A water purifier is a device used to improve the quality of drinking water and domestic water. It mainly removes suspended substances, sediments, heavy metals, organic pollutants, bacteria, viruses and odors in the water through physical filtration, chemical adsorption or membrane separation technology. According to the purification technology, water purifiers can be divided into activated carbon type, ceramic filter element type, ultrafiltration type and reverse osmosis (RO) type, etc. Its application range is wide, including homes, offices, hospitals, schools, commercial places, etc. The purpose is to improve the safety and taste of water so that users can drink or cook with peace of mind.
The installation method of the water purifier depends on its type and usage environment. Common household water purifiers are divided into on-table, under-table, wall-mounted, central water purifier and pipeline machine matching types. The on-bench water purifier is relatively simple to install, just connect the water purifier to the faucet through a special three-way valve. Under-counter water purifiers are usually installed under the kitchen sink, and need to be connected to the cold water pipes using special connectors, and independent outlet faucets are installed, and sometimes holes are required. RO reverse osmosis water purifiers are usually equipped with water storage buckets and power supply devices. Enough space should be left during installation and confirm that the power supply is stable.
During the installation process, the following points should be paid attention to: First, confirm whether the tap water pressure meets the working requirements of the water purifier. Too high or too low may affect the use effect; secondly, choose an installation location that is ventilated, dry, and convenient for drainage to avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures; again, the installer should ensure that each interface is tightened to prevent water leakage. After installation, test whether the water flow is smooth and whether there are abnormal noises. In addition, some models of water purifiers need to be rinsed for a period of time before first use to remove residual impurities of the filter element or activated carbon powder.
Correct installation is the prerequisite for ensuring the stable operation of the water purifier. Users can choose to provide door-to-door installation services by the brand after-sales service, or entrust professional water and electricity technicians to ensure normal performance of the equipment and avoid usage problems caused by improper installation.
Advantages of water purifiers
Water purifiers have obvious advantages in improving water quality, improving quality of life, and ensuring water health. First of all, the water purification capacity. The water purifier purifies the raw water layer by layer through a multi-stage filter element structure, generally including PP cotton, granular activated carbon, compressed activated carbon, ultrafiltration membrane or RO membrane, etc., which can effectively filter the sediment, rust, residual chlorine, bacteria, viruses, heavy metals and organic pollutants in the water. This comprehensive filtration greatly improves the safety of the effluent and is suitable for direct drinking, making tea, making milk, cooking rice, washing vegetables and other purposes.
The water purifier improves the taste of tap water. Tap water in many areas contains residual chlorine, and some also have rust or other odors. After adsorption by activated carbon, the water quality can be clearer and the taste will be softer. This is particularly important for people who are sensitive to water quality and taste, such as infants, the elderly, pregnant women, etc.
From an economic point of view, long-term use of water purifiers can reduce the purchase cost of bottled or bottled water. Although the initial replacement of equipment and filter elements requires a certain investment, the cost per liter of water output is much lower than the price of bottled water, which is suitable for daily drinking water needs. In addition, using a water purifier can help reduce the generation of plastic bottle waste, which is conducive to improving environmental awareness.
The water purifier is also highly adaptable. There are models suitable for different water quality on the market, such as water soft water purifiers for high hardness water quality, pre-filters that can be connected to well water or groundwater, and heat-cleaning integrated machine with heating function, etc., to meet the diverse use needs. Some high-end products are also equipped with TDS detection, filter element life reminder, automatic flushing, water leakage protection and other functions, which enhance the intelligence and safety of the equipment.
After installation and use, the water purifier can significantly reduce scale adhesion, which helps to extend the service life of kitchen appliances such as water heaters, electric kettles, and steam stoves. Especially in hard water areas, water purifiers can reduce scale accumulation and reduce the risk of equipment failure.
Maintenance of water purifiers
The normal operation of the water purifier is inseparable from daily maintenance. The maintenance content mainly includes filter element replacement, machine cleaning, water outlet inspection, water quality monitoring and maintenance of key components. The most basic maintenance work is to regularly replace the filter element. Different types of filter elements have different service life. For example, PP cotton filter elements are recommended to replace them once every 3-6 months, activated carbon for 6-12 months, and RO membranes can be used for 1-2 years. If the filter element is used for too long, it will lead to a decrease in purification capacity, deterioration in water quality, and even secondary pollution.
During the maintenance process, users need to operate according to the instructions or equipment prompts. Some water purifiers are equipped with filter life reminder function, which can more conveniently grasp the replacement time. When replacing the filter element, be sure to use original accessories to avoid problems such as incompatibility of the filter element and poor sealing.
In addition to the filter element, the entire machine also needs to be cleaned regularly. Especially for water storage bucket type water purifiers, if not cleaned for a long time, it is easy to breed bacteria or produce odors. It is generally recommended to perform system disinfection every three to six months, use special disinfectant or be operated by professionals at home. For on-table or undertook equipment, you should also pay attention to whether there is scale or foreign objects blockage in the outlet faucet and pipeline.
If the water purifier is not used for a long time (such as long-term business trips or relocation), it is recommended to cut off water and power in advance, and drain the water stored in the water tank and pipes. The system should be thoroughly flushed for several minutes before re-activated to ensure fresh water flows. After each filter element is replaced or cleaned, it is also recommended to rinse for 5 to 10 minutes to prevent the initial release of impurities in the filter element from affecting the quality of the water.
Users should also regularly observe the water outlet flow rate and TDS value changes of the water purifier. If the water outlet speed is found to be slower, the taste is abnormal or the TDS value is significantly increased, the reasons should be checked in time and contact after-sales service if necessary. Ensure that the equipment is in a dry and ventilated environment, avoid moisture or direct sunlight, and can also extend its service life. Regular maintenance not only helps keep the water quality clean and safe, but also delays equipment aging, reduces failure rate, and brings users a more stable and secure user experience.
